Hey just found out some more about the Yamaha X factor VST. There will be a lot more information coming very soon about X Factor, but basically this is a DVD of VST instruments and content that comes bundled with the new Yamaha KX MIDI controllers. One of the things that is included is the S90ES piano sample in HALion One format. The Yamaha S90 ES v1.6 includes 14 piano patches from the Yamaha S90 ES, carefully sampled using mLan16 (Digital FireWire). You can select the main patch (the button with the name of the patch or the yellow indicator on the left above it), connect the second to it (red indicator on the right above the patch button), as well as additional pads (controlled by the modulation wheel) and reverb.

The S90 XS/S70 XS Editor Standalone / VST, based on the 'VST3 technology' by Steinberg, works as a VST3 plug-in with Cubase (DAW application). The S90 XS/S70 XS Editor Standalone / VST also works as the same way as other VST instrument software, allowing you to save the edited settings of the S90 XS/S70 XS, or use them for another project.
You can use the editor without Studio Manager.

If the S90 XS / S70 XS Editor VST under V1.4.0 has already been installed to your computer, uninstall that version of the editor before installing this version.

Known Issues

  • After re-installation of the Editor, the Voice name may occasionally not appear on the Media Bay windows of Cubase. If this is the case, execute 'Refresh' or 'Rescan'.

  • The Mixing setup may not be recalled even if you store the current data of the Multi mode to a different Multi number then select the original Multi number again. To prevent such a situation, select another Multi number on the Editor, then select the original Multi number, or select the original Multi number directly from the S90 XS instrument again.

The installation may take up to an hour to complete. We apologize for the inconvenience.
It is important to let the installation complete. Please do not quit, force quit or turn off your computer during the installation.

  • Data received by means of the SOFTWARE may not be duplicated, transferred, or distributed, or played back or performed for listeners in public without permission of the copyright owner.
  • The encryption of data received by means of the SOFTWARE may not be removed nor may the electronic watermark be modified without permission of the copyright owner.

TERMINATION

If any copyright law or provisions of this Agreement is violated, the Agreement shall terminate automatically and immediately without notice from Yamaha. Upon such termination, you must immediately destroy the licensed SOFTWARE, any accompanying written documents and all copies thereof.

DOWNLOADED SOFTWARE

If you believe that the downloading process was faulty, you may contact Yamaha, and Yamaha shall permit you to re-download the SOFTWARE, provided that you first destroy any copies or partial copies of the SOFTWARE that you obtained through your previous download attempt. This permission to re-download shall not limit in any manner the disclaimer of warranty set forth in Section 5 below.

This Agreement shall be interpreted according to and governed by Japanese law without reference to principles of conflict of laws. Any dispute or procedure shall be heard before the Tokyo District Court in Japan. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any portion of this Agreement to be unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

COMPLETE AGREEMENT

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to use of the SOFTWARE and any accompanying written materials and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings or agreements, written or oral, regarding the subject matter of this Agreement. No amendment or revision of this Agreement will be binding unless in writing and signed by a fully authorized representative of Yamaha.
